Warehouse and logistics security systems
For warehouse, distribution centre, cold storage and trucking yard owners, operators and property managers in Alberta and BC.

The quick answer
A warehouse needs security that follows the freight: gate access and plate recognition for trucks and staff, cameras on every dock door and the yard, thermal cameras or monitored fences on long perimeters, access control on offices, server rooms and high-value cages, and door contacts on overhead doors. Remote video monitoring through our monitoring partner can watch the yard and fence line after hours. It all runs on a network that also has to carry your scanners and Wi-Fi.
Where the risk is
What operators tell us about
- Trailers and loads taken from the yard overnight
- Theft from docks during busy shifts
- Fence lines too long for ordinary cameras at night
- Gate codes shared between carriers
- Disputes over damage and arrival times
What helps
- A plate and time record for every truck in and out
- A camera on every dock door, inside and out
- Thermal cameras or fence sensors on the perimeter
- Personal credentials for staff and carriers
- One search across gate, dock and yard video
Systems that fit a warehouse
| System | What it does |
|---|---|
| Yard gate access | Fob, code, phone or intercom access at the gate, connected to the gate operator, with every entry logged. |
| Plate recognition | Cameras that read plates at the gate, so every truck in and out can be searched by plate and time. |
| Dock cameras | A camera on each dock door and in the trailer, plus wide views of the dock floor, to settle damage and short-load disputes. |
| Thermal cameras | Detect people by heat along long, dark fence lines, in snow, rain and darkness. |
| Monitored fences | Sensors on the perimeter fence that alert when someone climbs or cuts it. |
| Access control | Offices, server rooms, high-value cages and staff entrances by role and shift. |
| Remote video monitoring | Our monitoring partner watches the yard and fence line after hours and warns intruders through a speaker. |
| Networks and Wi-Fi | Cabling and Wi-Fi for cameras, scanners and handhelds, on separate networks. |
Large sites and several buildings
Big sites link buildings, guard huts and gates with fibre or wireless links, and keep video in one system so a truck can be followed from the gate to the dock. Parts of the yard with no power can use solar-powered and cellular cameras.

How we work around your shifts
Warehouses often run around the clock, so we plan with your operations team: dock cameras go in one door at a time, gate changes happen in the quietest window, and we keep a temporary process at the gate while it’s changed over. Lift and yard work follows your site safety rules.
We work across Alberta and BC from our Edmonton head office and our offices in Calgary, Red Deer and Kelowna, including the Edmonton region, Calgary, Red Deer, the Okanagan and the Lower Mainland.
Your checklist
Before the site walk
- A site plan with gates, docks, fence lines and buildings
- Shift times and when the yard is empty
- Your carriers and how they arrive
- Where losses or disputes have happened
At handover
- Admin access to every system, in your name
- Full documentation, including camera views and network details
- Staff trained to search by plate, dock and time
- Camera health and UPS alerts, if you want them

Warehouse and logistics security questions
What security does a warehouse need?
Gate access with plate recognition, cameras on every dock door and the yard, thermal cameras or fence sensors on the perimeter, access control inside and remote video monitoring after hours.
Can cameras read truck plates at our gate?
Yes. Plate recognition cameras at the gate log every vehicle in and out, so you can search by plate and time.
Why use thermal cameras on a warehouse fence line?
Thermal cameras detect people by heat, so they work along long, dark fence lines and in snow or rain where ordinary cameras struggle.
Can carriers get their own gate access?
Yes. Each carrier or driver can get a code, fob or phone credential with set hours, and the gate logs every entry.
Can dock cameras help with damage claims?
Yes. A camera on each dock door and into the trailer shows how a load arrived and left, with the time.
Can someone watch our warehouse yard overnight?
Yes. Remote video monitoring through our monitoring partner can watch the yard and fence line after hours and warn intruders through a speaker.
Will cameras slow down our scanners and Wi-Fi?
Not when the network is designed for both. We put cameras, scanners and guest Wi-Fi on separate networks.
Can you work while the warehouse is running?
Yes. We plan with your operations team and change one dock or gate at a time, following your site safety rules.
Do you secure cold storage warehouses?
Yes, including temperature alarms on coolers and freezers that alert staff before stock spoils.
