Choosing the right Avigilon setup
Most Avigilon projects start with one decision: Unity or Alta. Unity suits sites that want video and access control on their own servers, often larger buildings with IT staff that want to keep footage on-site. Alta suits property managers and businesses with several locations that want everything in the cloud, with no server to maintain and mobile-first door access. Camera choice comes next: fixed domes and bullets for most entrances and halls, multi-sensor cameras where one mount needs to cover a wide area like a parkade or yard, and PTZ cameras where an operator needs to zoom and follow. We map every camera position before quoting, so you’re not paying for coverage you don’t need.
Upgrading an existing Avigilon system
If you already run Avigilon, much of it can usually stay. Older Avigilon Control Center sites can often move to Avigilon Unity, and existing cameras can keep working while new ones are added. We check licences, recorder health and camera firmware first, then plan the upgrade in stages so the building is never left unprotected.
Avigilon, fully supported end to end
One team handles your Avigilon system from the first plan to years of service.
A typical Avigilon project includes a site walk, a camera and door layout, licence planning, installation and cabling, programming of analytics and alerts, and training on searching footage. We finish with documentation of every device, login and setting, so the system is never a mystery.

Remote video monitoring with Avigilon
Already have Avigilon cameras, or planning a new Avigilon system? Remote video monitoring can usually be added, so a monitoring team reviews alerts 24/7, warns people off through speakers and calls police or your contact when it’s real. We confirm how it connects to your system first. How remote video monitoring works.
- Live alerts from your cameras reviewed 24/7 by a monitoring operator
- Talk-down speakers that warn people off before damage is done
- Police or your contact called when it’s real, with the video
- Added to new cameras, or to existing cameras we’ve checked
Avigilon questions
What’s the difference between Avigilon Unity and Avigilon Alta?
Unity runs on servers at your site, while Alta is managed in the cloud. We help you choose based on how many buildings you have, your IT setup and how you want to manage the system.
Can Avigilon find footage quickly?
Yes. Avigilon’s AI search tools let you search across cameras for a person or vehicle by appearance, which can save hours compared with scrubbing through video.
Can Avigilon cameras and access control work together?
Yes. Avigilon video and access control can be managed together, so door events link straight to the matching footage.
Do you install Avigilon in Edmonton, Calgary and across BC?
Yes. We install and support Avigilon across Alberta, including Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Lethbridge, and in BC, including Kelowna, Penticton, Vancouver and Victoria.
Can you take over an existing Avigilon system?
Yes. We service, repair and take over Avigilon systems installed by other companies, and document everything for you.
How long does a Avigilon installation take?
It depends on the size of the system. A small installation can often be done in a day or two, while larger buildings are planned in phases. You get a timeline with your quote.
Do you offer maintenance plans for Avigilon?
Yes. Maintenance plans include scheduled checks, software and firmware updates, and priority service for your Avigilon system.
Can Avigilon cameras be monitored remotely?
In most cases, yes. Avigilon cameras can usually be connected to a remote video monitoring service. We check your system version and network, then set up detection and monitoring to suit the site.
