Choosing the right TX3 setup
Start with the entrances and how many residents the directory has to hold: TX3 panels come in sizes from a few hundred to a few thousand names. Then choose how calls reach residents, either over an outside phone line or over the building’s existing suite phone lines, and whether the lobby needs a touch screen or a keypad panel. Fob doors, parkade gates and elevators can run on the same TX3 system and the same Configurator file, so we plan them together.
Taking over or updating a Mircom TX3
Many apartment and condo buildings in Alberta and BC already have a TX3 in the lobby. We take over TX3 systems installed by other companies, get the Configurator file and admin access back for systems you own, update the directory, and add fob doors or elevator restriction. What is a Mircom TX3?
TX3 is Mircom’s line of entry and access control: telephone access panels and touch screen directories in the lobby, card access controllers and readers, and elevator restriction, all set up in TX3 Configurator software.
How does a TX3 call residents?
The panel calls the resident’s phone, either over an outside phone line or over the building’s existing suite phone lines. The resident talks to the visitor and presses a key to let them in.
Can we add and remove residents ourselves?
Yes, on the panel keypad or in TX3 Configurator. Our Mircom TX3 help guides walk through it step by step, or we can do it for you.
Do you install Mircom fire alarms?
No. Mircom also makes fire alarm systems, but fire alarm work belongs to your fire alarm contractor. We install and support the TX3 entry and access side, and coordinate with them where the systems meet.
Can a TX3 control elevators?
Yes. Mircom’s TX3 elevator restriction units limit which floors a card can reach. We plan them with your elevator contractor.
Our TX3 is old. Can you replace it?
Yes. We can update it to a newer TX3 or replace it with a video intercom that calls residents’ phones through an app. See intercom replacement for the options.
