How to add, edit and delete users and cards in CDVI ATRIUM
Step-by-step help for the CDVI ATRIUM software, for property managers and system administrators.
The quick answer
On the ATRIUM Dashboard, click Users, then Add. Enter the name, assign a card on the Credentials tab and an access level on the Access Levels tab, then click Save. In ATRIUM, door access is given to the user, not the card. To stop a lost card, open the card’s Properties, tick Lost (or Stolen) on the Options tab and save.
We’ll do it for you
Short on time, or no admin login? Our team can add, change or remove users, fobs and listings for you, remotely where your system allows it, or on site.
Before you start
Works with: CDVI ATRIUM software
Who it’s for: System administrators and property managers
You need: an ATRIUM login that can manage users and cards, the card number and format, and the access level to give.
Good to know: Door access is given to users, not cards: you assign an access level to the user, then give the user a card.

Add a user with a card and access level
On the Dashboard tab, click Users, then click Add.
Under General Information, enter the First Name and Last Name (up to 16 characters each). Make sure Enabled is set. Optional: set an Activation Date and Expiration Date (leave the expiry empty for permanent users).
On the Credentials tab, click Assign, select the card or tag and click OK (or click Add & Assign to create a new card). An assigned card won’t work until its status is Active.
On the Access Levels tab, click Assign, select the access level or levels and click OK.
Click Save. The user appears in the Users list.
Edit or delete a user
- Edit: select the user, click Properties and make your changes. To unassign a card or access level, select it and click Unassign. Click Save.
- Delete: select the user, click Delete and confirm. Administrator and Installer users can’t be deleted.
Add a card on its own
On the Dashboard tab, click Cards.
Click Add (or use Card Enrolment to add cards by presenting them at a reader).
In Card Properties, enter a Display Name, choose the Format and enter the card Number.
Under General Information, pick the user the card belongs to, or leave it blank and assign it later from Users.
Set an Activation Date and Expiration Date if needed (leave the expiry blank for permanent cards). Click Save.
To edit a card, select it in the list, click Properties, change it and click Save.
Mark a card lost, or delete it
- Lost or stolen: select the card, then Properties > Options tab, tick Lost (or Stolen) and Save. The card stops working but isn’t deleted.
- Delete: select the card, click Delete and confirm.
If it didn’t work
The card doesn’t open any door
Check the card’s status is Active, and that the user has an access level that includes the door.
It opens some doors but not one
That door isn’t in the user’s access level, or its schedule doesn’t allow entry at that time.
I can’t delete a user
Administrator and Installer users can’t be deleted.

Questions
Why give access to users, not cards?
In ATRIUM the access level belongs to the user, so if a card is lost you give the same person a new card without setting up their access again.
What’s the difference between Lost and Delete?
Lost (or Stolen) stops the card but keeps it on record. Delete removes it.
Can you manage ATRIUM for us remotely?
Often, yes, when the system can be reached remotely and you give us permission. Otherwise we book a visit.
Where can I get more CDVI cards or fobs?
From us. We match them to your readers and card format and can add them for you.
