CommScope structured cabling in Alberta and BC

Hightower designs and installs CommScope copper and fibre structured cabling end to end for commercial buildings, from the comms room to every desk, camera and access point, from Edmonton, Calgary and Red Deer to Kelowna, Vancouver and Victoria.

About CommScope

CommScope makes structured cabling for buildings and campuses, sold under the SYSTIMAX and NETCONNECT names. The range covers solid copper category cable, jacks, patch panels and cords, fibre cable and connectivity, and the panels and enclosures that organise it all in the comms room.

What we install from CommScope

Copper structured cabling

Category 6 and 6A cable, jacks and patch panels, matched as one system from the comms room to the outlet.

Fibre and backbones

Fibre cable, panels and cords between comms rooms, floors and buildings.

Comms room build-outs

Patch panels, cable management and racks laid out so every run is easy to find and change.

Cabling for building systems

Drops for cameras, access control, intercoms, Wi-Fi and building controls, planned with the rest of the network.

Choosing between SYSTIMAX and NETCONNECT

Both are CommScope structured cabling lines. SYSTIMAX is aimed at enterprise buildings, data centres and campuses, and NETCONNECT at commercial buildings and smaller sites. Often the choice is already made in the project specification, or by what an existing building uses. We follow the spec, and where there isn’t one, we recommend what fits the building and the systems on it.

Extending an existing CommScope system

If the building already runs CommScope cabling, we match the existing line so new runs, panels and cords fit what’s there. We test the old runs, replace any that fail, and update the labels and documentation so the whole building is on one record.

CommScope, fully supported end to end

One team handles your CommScope system from the first plan to years of service.

We plan the pathways and the comms room, pull and terminate the cable, label every run, and hand over drawings and documentation. After the install we handle moves, adds and repairs.

We plan the right CommScope setup for your building and give you a clear, written quote.

Supply

We source genuine CommScope cable and connectivity through established distributors and check the markings on every box.

Our technicians pull, dress and terminate every run to a clean, professional standard.

Label

Drawings and a labelled comms room, so your IT team knows where every run goes.

Service and repair

Ongoing support, repairs, updates and maintenance plans for the life of the system.

CommScope questions

What is the difference between SYSTIMAX and NETCONNECT?

Both are CommScope structured cabling lines. SYSTIMAX is aimed at enterprise buildings, data centres and campuses, and NETCONNECT at commercial buildings and smaller sites. We follow your specification or recommend one for the building.

Is CommScope category cable solid copper?

CommScope’s category cables use solid copper conductors. We buy through established distributors and check the jacket markings, so no copper-clad aluminum (CCA) cable is installed. Read our CCA cable alert.

Our specification calls for CommScope. Can you price it?

Yes. We price from the drawings and specification as written, and mark any alternates clearly. See new construction.

Can you add to an existing CommScope system?

Yes. We match the existing line so new runs, panels and cords fit, test the old runs, and update the labels and documentation.

Can you get a CommScope system warranty?

CommScope offers system warranties through its own installer program, with its own requirements. If your project calls for one, tell us and we’ll confirm what applies before we quote.

Do you install CommScope cabling in Edmonton, Calgary and across BC?

Yes. We install and support CommScope cabling across Alberta, including Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Lethbridge, and in BC, including Kelowna, Penticton, Vancouver and Victoria.
