Commercial security for BC ski and mountain towns

From Whistler and Revelstoke to Golden, Fernie, Invermere, Kimberley, Sun Peaks, Big White and Silver Star, we install and support commercial security systems for the hotels, strata buildings, staff housing and shops of BC’s ski towns.

Updated

Security built for BC ski country

BC’s ski towns run on visitors. Hotels and lodges, strata buildings with rental pools, staff housing, rental shops, restaurants and the businesses at the base of each hill have people coming and going every day of the season, and some sit nearly empty between seasons.

Snow, cold, wildlife and seasonal staff all shape how a mountain system is planned. Most day-to-day changes, like adding staff or checking video, are made remotely, with on-site visits from the office nearest each town.

Golden, Invermere, Fernie and Kimberley are supported from our Calgary office; Revelstoke, Sun Peaks, Big White and Silver Star from our Kelowna office; and Whistler as part of our Vancouver service area.

What BC ski country buildings need

The local conditions we plan every BC ski country system around.

Hotels, lodges and condo-hotels

Guest room locks, key cards or mobile keys, and entrance access that follows each stay. See hotel security and MTech hotel locks.

Strata and rental pools

Strata buildings where owners rent units to guests need entry that changes with each booking, plus video intercoms and parcel lockers. See our condo access control guide.

Staff housing

Fob or phone access and video intercoms for staff accommodation, updated as people start and leave each season.

Village and rental shops

Cameras and monitored alarms for ski, bike and gear rental shops, restaurants and stores in the village.

Planning a system in a BC ski town

What we look at on resort sites.

Strata rules and BC privacy law

Some changes in a strata building need owner approval, and cameras fall under BC’s privacy law. We help you plan cameras and signs that fit both. See BC strata security cameras. This is general information, not legal advice.

Snow, cold and ski boots

Readers, intercoms and cameras are chosen for deep snow and cold, and placed where snow sliding off roofs won’t hit them.

Busy seasons, quiet seasons

Access schedules and alerts can change with the season, so buildings that sit quiet between seasons are still watched.

Stuck with a system nobody will fix?

We take over, repair and fully support systems installed by other companies, with new passwords and full documentation.

Video monitoring

Remote video monitoring in BC ski country

Rental shops, storage and strata buildings can sit quiet between seasons. Our monitoring partner can watch your cameras 24/7, warn people off through speakers and call for help when it’s real. How remote video monitoring works.

  • Ski storage, parkades and shops checked live
  • Detection tuned for people and vehicles, not snow or wildlife
  • Police or your contact called when it’s real, with the video
  • Added to new cameras, or to existing cameras we’ve checked

Yes, once the strata has approved them. We help plan camera placement and signs under BC privacy law. See BC strata security cameras. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do you work on hotel room locks?

Yes. We install guest room locks, key cards and mobile keys, and connect them to entrance access. See hotel security and MTech hotel locks.

Do you offer remote video monitoring in BC ski country?

Yes. We set up remote video monitoring through our monitoring partner for hotels, strata buildings, rental shops and staff housing, on new cameras or existing cameras we’ve checked.
